Zumba Toning sticks

I'm going to be placing an order so that we can get our sticks before the classes start. I'm anticipating to start the class on Wednesday, September 14th. If you know you want to participate in Zumba Toning and want the sticks I will need your money by the end of next week.

There are 2 options for them:
1lb Toning sticks $20/pair

2.5lb Toning Sticks $25/pair
DUE September 1st (Thursday in class)

Again, let me know if you're interested. You're welcome to purchase your own pair of weights-but remember they're not as fun and you can't shake them. Be sure they're no more than 2.5 lbs.

long time no read

Hi everyone,

Zumba at Sweet's has been great this year. Fall is coming up and that also means some changes. First of all, I will be adding Zumba Toning to the classes at Sweet's. It is a great twist on weight training because it incorporates both Zumba and light-weight toning. I'm excited to offer this variety.

Another exciting addition will be Zumbatomic. This is a class that is specially designed for kids ages 4-12. It is a fun way to help little ones stay active and introduce them to dance, new rhythms, and teamwork and socializing. I am finalizing dates for this one so stay tuned.

In the meantime, I'd like your feedback on the schedule for the fall. Please take the survey on the right. The proposition is this:

Zumba Toning on Mondays and Wednesday
Zumba (regular cardio class) on Tuesdays and Thursdays

The major change I'd like to get your feedback on is to change the class time to 8:30PM instead of 9:00PM. Please vote to your right so I can finalize the schedule.

Payment Options

Hi Everyone,

I have a PayPal account created if you're interested in purchasing punch cards and clothing with a debit/credit card. Feel free to ask me about this in class if you're interested.

Zumba in 2011!!!

Ready for 2011?

Remember to make realistic goals/resolutions this year. One of those resolutions could be to be healthier and to exercise regularly. Boy have I got the solution for you. Zumba Fitness is a great and FUN way to get in shape and to maintain health. Zumba Fitness is FUN, and it feels like a party. Come to Sweet's in Provo and see for yourself. I promise you will sweat, have fun, and make new friends. Bring a friend with you so that you're more committed.

To help accommodate more people, I have decided to add another weeknight to our regular schedule. We will now have Zumba on Monday nights too. It's also late at 9PM so that we can still fulfill our family commitments but adding another night means MORE FUN! :)

Also note that we will no longer hold a regular Saturday morning class. I will still be doing 2 Saturday morning classes per month for FREE so that you can bring your friends and share the Zumba LOVE with them too.

See the column to the right and check out our specials! For a limited time you can get classes as low as $1.50 per class. You do not want to miss out on these low prices-they are going to increase in February.

Hope to see you in class! :)

Peace.

a little bit 'bout me...

I grew up in Boston listening and dancing to Latin music my whole life. Not one Saturday morning would go by in my home without the sound of music blasting and warm tortillas and beans cooking.

I lived a modest life in terms of tangible things but one filled with intangible riches-family, friends, and food. All of these things gathered around my cultural roots mixed with American influences and centered around music.

I would listen to hip hop with my cousin, Pain, and rock with my other cousin, Patty. Soca, Reggae, and Calypso with my uncle. And of course Punta with my mom. Salsa, Merengue and Bachata were an obvious influence by the diverse countries of Latin America represented in Boston growing up.

There were dance parties in my family at least once per month and while I was usually shy about dancing at those, I watched with much intent as I saw my cousins dance all night long.

Since then, I've continued to live my culture and listen to the music that I grew up with. Living away from my family and starting my own culturally diverse family meant that I had to find opportunities to dance. I learned and was exposed to Polynesian-style beats and music. But my deeply rooted passion for my own music was not sufficiently enriched. Life gets busy for us all.

Since I became exposed to Zumba back in 2006 I have become addicted. With Zumba I get to relive and FEEL those childhood memories for a whole hour. My love for my culture and dance is not traditionally fulfilled-since it is without the heels and food (most of the time). But through the music of Zumba and the basic movements of the body I am able to enjoy and appreciate my wonderful Latin culture. I became a certified Zumba Instructor in June of 2010 so that I may share that with everyone who attends my class. Zumba truly unites individuals from all backgrounds.

All I ask is that you leave your worries and inhibitions at the door. Come in and FEEL the MUSIC. Allow yourself to have an hour dedicated to YOU and to revitalizing your mind and body at the same time while PARTYing and dancing.

Hope to see you in class! :)
